How Great Britain generated electricity in June
In June, wind was our largest source of generation, providing 24.9% of our electricity. Gas came second at 20%.
52% of electricity came from zero-carbon sources, peaking at 85% on 4 June at 12:30pm.
Coal accounted for just 0.1% of generation, allowing us to achieve 449 consecutive coal free hours.
Demand for electricity peaked on 13 June at 4:30pm.
